So, what's it all about??

The group encompases all of the sections (Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts), Leaders and any assets (such as buildings, tents and games equipment). The Group has its own uniformed leaders to oversee the running of the sections and also an executive committee to look after the running of the group itself, including fund raising and public profile.

In 2007 Scouting celebrates 100 Years of challenge and adventure. In the UK Scouting has 500,000 members and across the world 28 million people have joined the adventure. Scouting offers more than 200 activities from abseiling to zorbing (rolling down a hill in a giant plastic ball!), teaches boys and girls new skills, and above all its great fun!

At the 6th Southgate, our aim is to enrich the lives of young people and bring to them the opportunity of adventure and challenge. Our program consists of activities and games, community service, adventure, challenge and the opportunity to learn new skills. We provide a balanced program but most importantly scouting should be about having fun!
