Daniel - Scout Leader

Danielcropped.jpg Daniel manages and leads the operation of the Scout Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme to the Section, with the help of Assistant Scout Leaders, Troop Assistants, Young Leaders and members of the Scout Fellowship.

Daniel has been through Scouting as a Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venture, and was a young leader for the 16th Southgate's Beaver Colony. His experience with Scouting enables him to enthuse the leaders and young people. Daniel has been envolved with the Southern 50 challenge hosted by Greater London North since he was old enough to stand. In 2005 Daniel achieved his Queen scout award as well as his Gold Duke of Edinburgh.

Matt - Assistant Scout Leader

Mattcropped.jpg Matt has been a Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venture Scout. He helped run a Scout Troop in Southampton from 1999 - 2003. He gained his Queen's Scout Award in 2001. He has done expeditions in Switzerland, Romania and Northern Ireland as a member of the Scout Association. Matt joined the 6th Southgate in November 2003. He gained his Gold Duke of Edinburgh with Daniel, Ellie and Andrew.

Assistant Scout Leaders Support the operation of the Scout Section; in particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme to the Section, with the help of other Assistant Scout Leaders, Troop Assistants, Young Leaders and members of the Scout Fellowship.

Sergio - Assistant Scout Leader

Sergiocropped.jpg Sergio has been in the Cubs, but later turned to the Combined Cadet Force(CCF) Army section, in which he took part in lots of adventurous and self-reliance training. Sergio joined the 6th Southgate in 2006 he uses his experience in dealing with young people to his advantage to support Matt, Amanda and Daniel.

Sergio is an Assistant Scout Leader, and brings with him his experience as a Personal Trainer.

Daniel I- Assistant Scout Leader

Daniel has been a Cub and scout in the sixth southgate and has just left the Hatters Explorers unit he now attends university and comes down to help out when he can.

David - Assistant Scout Leader

David joined the 6th Southgate as an Assistant Scout Leader in October 2008 with broad experience in sports and outdoor pursuits coaching. A Scout in the 1970's (7th Peterborough), David went on to serve with the Metropolitan police and has managed and participated in a number of expeditions abroad, including running the Great Wall of China. As an instructor with the John Ridgway School of Adventure in his early 20's, David learned three lifelong principles that he hopes to pass on in his Scouting role: positive thinking; self-reliance; leaving people and places better than you found them.

Ellie - Troop Assistant

Ellie supports the Scout Leader and Assistant Scout Leaders in the delivery of a Balanced Programme for the Scout Section. Ellie has been a member of the Brownies and the Guides and draws on her experiences to aid the young people. Ellie gained her Queen Scout award and Duke of Edinburgh award in 2005. Ellie joined the 6th as a Helper in July 2003.

Ellie focusses on the administration of the troop keeping the books in line and making sure that activities are well planned and resourced.

Nancy - Young Leader

Nancy is an Explorer Scout at the Cockfosters Explore Scout Unit (ESU) and has been in Scouting for 3 years. She was previously a Scout at the 6th and enjoyed her time hugely therefore returning to help as a Young Leader. She is currently working towards her Duke of Edingburgh Silver award and as a Young Leader thrives on assisting the Troop. Nancy has been lucky enough to be picked to represent the 6th southgate and indeed Southgate District at this years World Jamboree which is celebrating 100 years of scouting.

Young Leaders are the future Leaders in the scout movement. All of the experience Nancy is picking up will be advantagous if Nancy chooses to take up a position as warranted Leader.
